The Three Layers of Practise

The practice uses the body as a gateway to meditation. Breathing techniques work on a physiological level to calm & nourish your mind & body. Inner body awareness focuses your attention on energetic flows that you create with pranayama breathing techniques. The mind’s eye builds on these internal energy flows to create inspiring meditations. This interweaved multi-tasking prevents mind-wandering and promotes stillness. Such control over your mind & body is one reason why this active approach to meditation is often referred to as empowering.

Meditation Courses

Learn the main breath-supported meditations. Each pranayama breathing technique creates its own energetic flow. We use these flows to guide meditations. The meditations focus attention on our living, breathing connection with the cosmos. This is the source of their calming power and inspiring nature. Each meditation connects inner body with outer nature in a different way (as illustrated). This meditation on merging is layayoga.

The courses have a linear structure, building from the foundational through to the transcendental. Progress at your own pace as far as you choose to go. Teaching is live, online or in-person.

Meditation Sources

These techniques were developed in India by practitioners who realised that the human body and the natural world around us provide an inspiring, vibrant focus for meditation. This is a life-affirming world view, connecting with the natural world rather than seeing it and your physical body as something to escape or isolate from (which is the goal of traditional meditation). To resonate with these practices, all you need is an appreciation of earth, nature & sky - a sense that will only deepen as we progress.
